How to Create a Facebook Fan Page
Facebook had truly become very much popular today. Stastics shows that over 400 million people in the world visit Facebook everyday. As such Facebook had become a great target market for small business owners who would like to expand their reach to clients. Aside from small business owners, lots of people had taken advantage to this opportunity. May you be an artist or a band or a community doing fundrasing for a cause. Facebook is a nice solution.
To promote your product or service on Facebook, you need to create your own Facebook Fan Page. First you need to login/register to Facebook and go to your Home page. After that, all you need to do is follow this simple steps:
1. First is we need to create our first Fan Page through going to our Home page and clicking on Ads and Pages.
2. Next, click on Pages. This will send to our list of pages.
3. Since it is our first time creating our own page, Facebook prompts us that we have not created any page yet. To create our first page, click on Create a Page.
4. After that, we need to choose what type of page we would create. For our sample on A5 Project, we choose Brand, product, or organization:. We have typed in our Page name and confirmed that we are the official representative for this page. Then, we click on Create Official Page to create our page.
Adding Static FBML Application to our Fan Page
The next step we nee to do is to add the Static Facebook Markup Language Application (FBML) on our page. Static FBML has a funcitonality that could enable us to create tabs or page content that support HTML codes. That is, we are free to use HTML codes on our Fan Page to further enhance the quality of our page.
5. To add Static FBML to our page, we need to edit the page by clicking on Edit Page.
6. Next, scroll down below and on More Applications, click on Browse More.
7. We could find the Static FBML application by using a search box. Type in Static FBML on the search box and hit Enter.
8. On our Search Result page, click on Static FBML. This would take us to Static FBML page.
9. Lets add the Static FBML application on our page by clicking Add to my Page.
10. And on the resulting pop-up, click on Add to Page. There it is, the Static FBML application had been added to our page.
Creating our Welcome FBML tab
After we have added the Static FBML application, it is time to create our Welcome page. This page will be the default landing page for visitors of our Fan page. Since it has an FBML functionality, we could add HTML codes on our page.
11. First is we need to Edit our new Fan Page (step 5), and click on Edit FBML.
12. In the Box Title field, type Welcome. This will be the name of our new tab of our page. And on FBML field, type in our HTML code.
13. Save our Changes
14. A message will show to confirm that our changes to our new Welcome tabe had been saved.
15. Now, let's go back to our new Fan Page.
16. Then, add our new Welcome tab by clicking on the "+" button and select Welcome.
17. There we have it, we have our very own Welcome tab. We may drag it to place it where we want it.
Customizing our Default Landing Page
We could now edit the settings of our page so that our new Welcome tab will the default tab that our visitors could see when this visit our Fan Page.
18. On the Wall of our new Fan Page, click on Settings.
19. Now change our Default Landing Tab.
20. It's done. When our visitors would visit our Fan Page, they will be greeted with our beautiful Welcome tab. (Of course that doesn't look beautifult.) Through FBML, we could add pictures, videos, contact form on our Welcome tab. You might like to hire web designers to help you on designing your new Fan Page.
